LA MANGA BOWLS CLUB

We would like to open our 2013 report by wishing all members of the Costa Blanca Bowls League a happy, healthy and successful New Year.

2012 ended up on a winning streak winning at home against San Miguel Cougars and they gave us a friendly Chrismas present of 12 points, 2 points being conceeded to Joe Dear, Bill Brown Lee and John Cleverley who won 21-18; well done to them. To continue this performance into 2013 we again managed to achieve 12 points at home against Emerald Isle Claymores winning by 127 to 71.

When we played them at the beginning of the season we lost 85 to 128 but gained 2 points so overall on a home and away basis we just managed to scrape home by 13 shots - a close call!!

The rink scores were as follows:- Sarah Lowman/Philip Don/Dick Osguthorpe 22-12, Dave Robertson/Ron Stokes/Sandra Robertson 18-16, Wendy Simpson/Stuart Fisher/Brian Simon 39-7, David Letby/Ann Grace/Sue Letby 18-12, Marion Fisher/John Grace/Robin Lowman 19-11, Brenda Stokes/John Cooper/Barry Simpson 11-13 (well done Mary Elliot/Reg Fooks/Len Bettam).
